Investigations Experience - 12 years

Interview witnesses for criminal and civil matters, surveillances, preparation of complex reports for attorneys and investigators, service of subpoenas, case planning and supervision, background checks and other investigative tasks.
Contract work for San Mateo County Private Defender Program where did investigations for many criminal investigations including felony crimes and a multimillion dollar real estate fraud case.
Recently completed a five month, very complex civil and criminal case involving financial fraud and identity theft. Legal theories of liability involved potential crimes, intentional torts and negligence, breaches of fiduciary duty by attorneys, trust officers and bank officials, many legal aspects of real property law (including SBA loans, 1031 exchange, other loans and collateralization), community property, contract law and business-entity issues. Tasks involved interview of witnesses, correspondence with bank and government attorneys and auditors, interaction and research with government and private MIS departments, and computer forensic analysis of a 35 gigabyte server drive for various bank and business records including digital credentials and other e-commerce transactions and records.

Corporate Security Experience - 10 years

Performed or was integral part of thousands of investigations involving theft, OSHA violations, drug-related crimes, sexual harassment, company policy and procedure violations, misdemeanor and felony crimes and civil litigation issues.
Handled every aspect of security management for multimillion-dollar businesses including financial and security audit development, creation and implementation of employee security awareness and training programs, physical security and all other aspects of corporate security. Was supervising investigator for up to four investigator trainees at a time.
All cases were handled from inception through to jury trial (if necessary) and/or with company human resources department.
Handled thousands of interviews and interrogations (where necessary) including obtaining verbal and written statements from witnesses and suspects.

Law Enforcement - 4 years

Police Reserve Officer - General patrol duties which included handling misdemeanor and felony cases, general criminal prosecutions and many other police-related duties.
