Privacy Policy
Effective July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Starrett Law and Advisory ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with this website, starrettlaw.com (the "Site"). We keep our data practices deliberately minimal, and we do not sell personal information.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide. This Site does not host contact forms; it provides an email link. If you choose to contact us — for example, by emailing the address listed on the Site — we receive the information you send, such as your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard technical information when the Site is accessed, such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, for security and operational purposes. This Site does not set its own advertising or tracking cookies.
Third-party resources. The Site loads typography from Google Fonts, which may cause your browser to request resources from Google's servers. The Site also links to external services (for example, our podcast on Buzzsprout); information you provide on any third-party site is governed by that site's own privacy policy, not this one.
2. How we use information
We use the information described above to respond to your inquiries, to provide and improve our services, to maintain the security and functionality of the Site, and to comply with our legal and professional obligations.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that support our operations (such as hosting and email providers), and we may disclose information where required by law or legal process, to protect our rights, or in connection with a professional engagement you have asked us to undertake.
4. Data retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by applicable law and professional-responsibility rules.
5. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information in our possession. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your privacy rights (including California residents)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to opt out of certain processing. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended (CCPA/CPRA), California residents may request access to or deletion of their personal information and are entitled to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell or "share" personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.
7. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for a professional audience and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. Your continued use of the Site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
